Well guys, I did it. I worked out tonight. I don’t mean just getting enough steps in. I did a real workout. With dumbbells. Let me tell you, I already know I’m going to be feeling it tomorrow.
“Where did week 3 go?” I think, as I sit here watching You and drinking water because it’s 10pm and I still haven’t had enough for today. Coffee? Of course! Orange juice? First thing! Water? Nah… I am horrible about drinking enough water. I’m not really sure why, I swear it runs in the family. But I will be filling in the water box on my 5 to Thrive checklist.
Last week was more of the same. I did drink more water and eat at home more. Unfortunately, that’s about it. Last week was super busy with work. Days I planned to come home, take advantage of the beautiful weather and go for a run didn’t happen because I ended up working too late and it was already dark out when I left the office. This week is a little easier but November is going to be just as bad until the holiday so I really just need to figure out a way to make it all happen.
I’ve listened to Rachel Hollis’ Rise podcast a lot lately. In one episode she reads the chapter from Girl, Wash Your Face called “The Lie: I’ll Start Tomorrow.” I’ve listened to it multiple times in the last week and it has really helped me plan for this week. If you’re looking for a little motivation to get through week 4, I highly recommend adding it to your plan for the day.
One thing this challenge has made me realize is just how fast this last part of the year is flying by and how easy it is to let missing one day turn into missing 30 days. Seize the day. Make it happen. I’m making it happen. I turned down an offer to eat out today and at leftovers at home. I worked out today. I drank my water today. I took the time to thank God for some of the little blessings in my life. I’m not choosing to start tomorrow. I started today… or 23 days ago really. That’s what this challenge is all about, isn’t it?
